Induction Training - Can We Help You?

Ask Yourself These Questions

When considering your current induction process, ask yourself the following questions. If you answer 'yes' to some of these questions, our solution may be a good alternative to your current induction training.

Do you manually induct a lot of people?

If so, you'll have resources tied up running the induction. The more people you induct, the higher your training cost.

Do you have multiple sites?

Multiple sites usually means multiple facilitators running the induction, or one facilitator traveling from site to site. An Intranet solution makes the training widely and immediately accessible.

Do you have many facilitators running induction training?

We've found some clients have had up to seven facilitators running induction training.

Is consistency an issue?

When more than one facilitator conducts induction training, consistency can become an issue. Each facilitator tends to emphasis different areas. For the inductee, this can result in a less than adequate induction.

Are inductions run offsite?

Some times facilitators are sent to induct contractors and the like offsite. This can be an expensive exercise when considering the facilitator's time & travel costs.

Does the induction take too long?

A narrated induction will be significantly shorter than a live one. Additionally, the process of scripting the induction will help identify and remove supplemental information.

Is accessibility an issue?

Hearing or vision impairment can make training difficult for affected people. We address this in our solutions by adhering to W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.

Is the facilitator's time limited?

Induction training is sometimes conducted on demand, which can severely disrupt daily work schedules. Even when an induction session is planned, Facilitators can often be under pressure to meet other work commitments.

Is testing required?

Assessment questions and learning activities are often incorporated to test the inductee's level of understanding.

Do you manually record results?

Manually recording your induction sessions in a spreadsheet or hard copy record sheet can now be replaced by an automated system.

Does your induction need a rewrite?

The induction content should contain accurate information, be well written and not provide too much detail. We can provide instructional design assistance, should this be required.

Is English a second language?

Relying solely on text based induction training can be difficult when English is not the inductee's first language. The use of narration, photos, video, diagrams and animation can significantly improve the effectiveness of the training.

Do you lack in house expertise?

Outsourcing makes good economic sense and provides a quicker, more advanced solution with a smaller budget.

Do you induct groups?

When a projector isn't always available, a DVD gives you the ability to show the narrated induction to a group of people using a TV and DVD player.
